NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee State University volleyball program, under the direction of head coach Donika Sutton, concluded its Youth Day Camp on Friday.
The two-day event welcomed young athletes from ages 6-11 to Kean Hall for a three-hour session on Thursday while Friday’s gathering took place from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.
"This was an awesome youth camp," commented Coach Sutton. "I was ecstatic with the number in attendance and really think everyone had a ball! The kids were energetic, eager to learn and entertaining! We had a great turnout for my first camp here at TSU. It is my goal that we can continue to connect and impact the youth in the metro area."
The Tiger coaching staff facilitated the camp and instructed the kids on hitting, technique, defense, ball control and other fundamental skills. Fun activities, highlighted by agility and cardio, were also included.
Volleyball will hold its All-Skills Girls camp July 9-11 for athletes ages 12-18. The three-day event will take place in Kean Hall with a 9 a.m. start each day.
