NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee State University volleyball team completed its first youth clinic of the Spring.
The clinic, which welcomed youth ages 8-18, was held on Saturday from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. in Kean Hall.
The clinic saw the campers participating in a number of volleyball drills to improve their overall volleyball performance. They focused on many areas including blocking, serving, setting and hitting.
“I thought the clinic was great,” Head Coach Donika Sutton stated. “I thought it was a great experience for us as a team; and our community. We are really focused this spring on reaching out to our youth. We had an amazing group of girls today and we had a good time.”
The clinic was meant to teach the young ladies the fundamentals of volleyball and help them improve their overall skillset.
“It is important for us to reach out to the community,” Sutton continued. “I feel like we are off to a good start. We had around 50 girls here and that was great.”
