OPENING SERVE: The Tennessee State volleyball team will travel to Kentucky this weekend to play conference foe Eastern Kentucky and Morehead State.
LAST TIME OUT: TSU would win in four sets over Jacksonville State the last time the Tigers stepped on the court. Taylor Patterson paced the team with 15 kills in the match. Chloe Watson (13), Arijana Anderson (12) and Payten Clark (11) all reached double digit kills in the game. Alexis Johnson and Julia Pierson were one kill shy of double digits with 9 apiece. Defensively Cherlie Adorno-DeJesus recorded 23 digs while Samantha Beltran added 14. Beltran also recorded 39 assists for her 5th double-double of the season.
SCOUTING MOREHEAD: Maddie Fella gives Morehead State some momentum coming into the match against the Tigers after garnering the OVC Defensive Player of the Week award. Merideth Jewell leads the 11-17 Eagles with 391 kills. On the defensive side Danielle McCarson is the team leader with 443 digs.
SCOUTING EKU: Eastern Kentucky has an overall record of 13-13 on the season and an 8-6 record in conference. Nikki Drost leads the Colonel offense with 306 kills on the season. Mallory Maxwell paces the team with 474 digs and averages 4.65 digs per set which is fourth best in the conference.
ALL TIME VS OPPONENTS: The Tigers have an overall record of 11-47 against Morhead State after winning a five set thriller earlier this season. The Tigers have a career record of 11-51 against EKU. TSU dropped a match in three to the Colonels a few weeks ago.
UP NEXT: The Tigers will begin tournament play in the conference beginning on Thursday Nov. 17th the time and the place are yet to be determined.
