OPENING SERVE: The Tennessee State volleyball team will take on the top two teams in the Ohio Valley Conference this weekend. On Friday night the Tigers will take on Murray State who is 7-1 in conference play. The following afternoon TSU will face off with top ranked Austin Peay who is also 7-1 in conference. Both games will be played in Kean Hall.

LAST TIME OUT: TSU (12-12, 3-5) dropped a 3-1 match against Southeast Missouri the last time they stepped on the court. Senior Chloe Watson had 14 kills while Julia Pierson tallied 12. Libero Cherie Adorno-DeJesus dug up 20 balls while Payten Clark added 6 blocks defensively for the Tigers.

SCOUTING MURRAY STATE: Murray State has one conference loss coming into the match against Tennessee State. Scottie Ingram who is the Preseason OVC Player of the Year leads the team with 314 kills and is second on the team in digs with 249. Ellie Lorenz paces the team with 376 digs. Murray was predicted to finish second in the conference this season.

SCOUTING AUSTIN PEAY: Austin Peay is the number one team in the conference with seven conference wins and 17 total wins on the season. The Governors were picked to finish 11th in the conference in the preseason. Nashville native Ashley Slay leads the team with 250 kills while also registering 60 blocks. Ginny Gerig is the team leader with 272 digs.

ALL TIME VERSUS OPPONENTS: The Tigers have an overall record of 10-45 against Murray State. Last time the Racers and Tigers played Murray State beat TSU to advance to the conference championship last season. Tennessee State will play APSU where they are 10-43 all-time against the Govs.

UP NEXT: The Tigers will face Belmont for the second time this season on Tuesday Oct. 25 in Kean Hall at 6 pm.
