Game Notes

NASHVILLE, Tenn. --- After being on the road for the first three weeks of the season the Tigers are playing their first game at home on Tuesday.

TSU (4-5) have been road warriors to start the 2016 season. The Tigers started off with the ISTAP Collegiate Cup I in Montgomery, Ala. followed by a trip to Manhattan, Kan. and most recently a ride north to the Butler Classic in Indianapolis.

The Tigers are finally in the Tiger Den where they posted a home record of 7-3 in the 2015 season. The squad will host Alabama A&M (1-11) in Kean Hall at 11 a.m. The first home game is Freshmen Social theme. The two teams have met once this season in week one. Tennessee State won that match 3-0.

The last time out the team lost a 3-1 match to Wright State on day two of the Butler Classic. Julie Pierson led the Tigers with 14 kills and also added six digs. Senior Chloe Watson has led the Tigers in kills in seven of the teams’ nine matches.

Rose Powell is in her third season as the head coach and brings back the 2015 SWAC Player of the Year Ashundria McNeal. The Lady Bulldogs have lost 10 straight games and their lone win came against North Carolina A&T in their second match of the season.
