Volleyball Looks to Bounce Back at Butler Classic

Game Notes

NASHVILLE --- On the road again...The Tigers travel to Indianapolis, Ind. where they will play in the Butler Classic. TSU volleyball will look to rebound after losing three matches last weekend. Freshman Payten Clark will step on the court for the first time this season.

TSU (4-3) will start the tournament with a Friday afternoon match against host Butler (4-4). The match will start at 11 a.m.  Saturday afternoon the Tigers will play the Raiders of Wright State (2-5) at 2 p. m. before they head back to Nashville.

The Tigers are looking to rebound from a tough tournament last week. Last weekend the Tigers lost matches to Georgia Tech (4-2), Kansas State (4-2) and #22 Michigan (6-0) to complete the K-State Invitational.

Senior Chloe Watson led the Tigers in the first two matches. Watson had eight kills and 13 digs against Georgia Tech; just two kills shy of what would have been her third double-double of the season. She followed that up with a 10 kill, eight dig game against Kansas State. Senior Taylor Patterson had an all-around game against Michigan tallying five kills, six assists and 10 digs.

Patterson and Junior Arijana Anderson will play in front of a hometown crowd as both players are from the Indianapolis area.

Offensively, Katie Klusman leads the team with 80 kills; while Jessie Thornton provides help defensively with 113 digs on the season. Susan Clements enters her fifth season as the head coach.
