NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee State volleyball team's preseason camp has come to a close. The Tigers finished their last day of camp on Saturday morning with a scrimmage versus the alumni volleyball players.
Head Coach Kathy Bullock got to see her team perform versus an opponent that they were not familiar with. Bullock stated, “I feel really good. It gave us an opportunity today to put six to eight people on the court and see how well they worked together. We have not been able to do that all summer. The alumni did an extremely good job of representing and giving us an amazing look.”
The 2016 team swept the alumni beating them 3-0 to end the day. Even though the current team won it was no cake walk. Each set proved to be long drawn out battles with both teams going on runs to put their team in position to win.
The current Tigers won the first set 25-22. After a quick breath both teams took the court. The second set was won by the current team by a score of 25-21. The alumni discussed strategy and came out strong in game three. However, this set had the same outcome as set one. The 2016 Tigers won 25-22 to end the match.
