NASHVILLE, Tenn.- The Tennessee State volleyball team is back on the road again this weekend after their four-game homestand. The Tigers will continue conference play, facing Tennessee Tech on Friday before heading to Jacksonville, Ala. on Saturday to face Jacksonville State.
Last Time Out
Tennessee State fell to Eastern Kentucky in four sets before defeating Morehead State last week 3-1.
Senior Haley Hampton hit a team-high of .404 last week, recording 21 kills and 13 blocks. Junior Chloe Watson led the team with 29 digs and 15 blocks. She registered her 13th double-doubles with a season-high of 13 blocks and 10 digs. Sophomore Samantha Beltran registered 45 assists against Eastern Kentucky and followed that up with 37 versus Morehead State. She recorded double-doubles in both matches as she tallied 10 or more digs in each contest. Freshman Zahria Graham finished the weekend with 19 kills and 26 digs through eight sets.
Scouting Tennessee Tech
Tennessee Tech is currently 6-19 on the season, sitting in tenth place in the OVC with a 4-8 conference record.
The Golden Eagles split last weekend, earning a 3-0 win over Austin Peay before falling to Murray State in four sets.
TTU is hitting .153 compared to opponents, who are hitting .213 against the Golden Eagles.
The Tigers picked up a 3-1 win over the Golden Eagles earlier this season and have a 13-38 all-time record versus Tennessee Tech.
Scouting Jacksonville State
Jacksonville State is 12-18 on the season and eleventh in conference with a 3-9 OVC record.
The Gamecocks went 1-1 last weekend, falling to Murray State on Friday before picking up a 3-0 win over Austin Peay.
JSU is hitting .198 on the season while opponents have posted a .228 attacking percentage against the Gamecocks.
Earlier this year the Tigers swept Jacksonville State 3-0. The teams have a 9-20 all-time record against each other.
