Watson Earns OVC Newcomer Award for Second Consecutive Week

Nashville, Tenn.- Junior Chloe Watson has been selected as the Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week. This is the second week in a row Watson has received the award.

Watson totaled 69 kills and 30 digs over the last three matches. She had a .233 attack percentage while also recording a team-high 66.5 points through 13 sets. The outside hitter tallied a pair of double-doubles last week, collecting 26 kills and 10 digs against Morehead State and then 25 kills and 14 digs versus Eastern Kentucky. Watson currently ranks fifth in the OVC in kill (184) kills and second in service aces (21).

“Chloe has been the breath of fresh air I’ve been needing in this program for years,” said head coach Kathy Bullock of the junior transfer. “ She’s a competitor and loves to compete and lead everyday.”

Catch Chloe and the rest of the Tigers tomorrow as they face crosstown and OVC rival, Belmont University at 6 p.m. in the Curb Event Center.
