NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee State volleyball team wrapped up their first week of camp Friday in the Gentry Center.
For the past week, the team has started off their mornings with weights and conditioning before heading to a full team practice, then separating in the afternoon for individual position training.
“This has probably been the best first week of camp that we’ve had in the last five years,” said head coach Kathy Bullock. “I’m extremely excited about this group and where they are right now.”
Even though it has only been a week, Bullock has been impressed with the hard work and competition that she has seen from her team.
“There’s some great competition going on in all positions on the court, which is exactly what you want during the first week,” said Bullock. “The girls are working extremely hard to get to where they need to be come game day.”
With the season opener right around the corner, the Tigers will continue their two-a-day practices next week before classes start.
