Nashville, Tenn. --- The Tennessee State University volleyball team returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 11 on the road at Austin Peay.
Match time is slated for 6 p.m. in the Dunn Center.
TSU (10-6, 6-3 OVC) is coming off two wins at home this weekend. The Tigers defeated Murray State 3-1 (23-25, 25-16, 25-23, 25-17) before picking up a 3-2 (25-22, 19-25, 22-25, 25-21, 15-11) victory over Southeast Missouri. The Tigers also dropped a hard-fought battle to Morehead State, 3-2, earlier in the week.
Shaquita Williams led TSU offensively over the three matches averaging 4.43 kills/set behind a .318 hitting percentage. She had 18 kills in the match versus MSU before posting 22 kills in back-to-back contests against Murray State and SEMO. She also had 10 blocks and seven service aces last week.
Tennessee State currently sits in three-way tie with SEMO and Eastern Kentucky for third place in the conference standings. Austin Peay (5-15, 3-6 OVC) is in eighth place in the league race.
Austin Peay is coming off of a 3-0 sweep over Murray State on Saturday. The Lady Govs used a 43-41 win in the third set to claim the win. APSU also defeated Eastern Kentucky and fell to Southeast Missouri last week. Nikki Doyle leads the team in kills per set with 3.50 while Paige Economos turns in 4.45 digs per outing.
