Santia Sanders named OVC Player of the Week

Nashville --- For the second straight week, a Tennessee State University volleyball player received an Ohio Valley Conference honor as Santia Sanders was named the OVC offensive player of the week on Monday, Nov.8.

Sanders, an outside hitter from Olympia Washington, recorded a career-best 28 kills go to with a season-high 19 digs in the win over Southeast Missouri last week. She registered her 12th double-double of the season versus Eastern Illinois with 14 kills and 11 digs.

The 5-9 senior finished the week with 42 kills and a .320 hitting percentage.

Sanders is currently leading the team in total kills (272) and kills per set (2.80) and has 315 points on the season. She has 261 digs and 23 service aces.

This is Santia Sanders first OVC player of the week honor. Last week senior Shaquita Williams was named the OVC offensive player of the week.
