Lipscomb up next for volleyball

Nashville, Tenn. --- The Tennessee State University volleyball team will look to pick-up its first win of the season on Tuesday against Lipscomb University.

The Tigers (0-4) participated in the Active Ankle Challenge hosted by Ball State this past weekend. TSU dropped contests to Ball State, 3-0, on Friday before falling to Oakland, 3-0, and Robert Morris, 3-1, on Saturday. Senior Santia Sanders led TSU in kills while sophomore Calasia Williams led the team in digs during the tournament.

Currently Sanders and Williams are also the overall team leaders in kills and digs, respectively. Vicmari Prospero leads the team in blocks while Kamille King and Kinsley Williams have turned in a team best four service aces each this season.

Lipscomb (4-2) has won two straight contests with its most recent victory coming over Pittsburgh. LU defeated Pitt, 3-0, by set scores of 25-15, 25-17 and 25-13.

The Bisons are led offensively by Kaycee Green with 3.00 kills per set while Alex Kelly leads the team with 4.43 digs per contest.

TSU and Lipscomb will meet for the 15th time in the series history with the Tigers holding a slight, 8-6, edge.

Match time is slated for 6:30 p.m. in Allen Arena.
