OVC Volleyball Predictions Released

Nashville --- The Tennessee State University volleyball team was predicted to finish the 2009 Ohio Valley Conference race in ninth place, as voted on by the league’s head coaches and sports information directors.

The Tigers will return five letter winners from last season and will add six newcomers to the squad.

Returning as seniors for the 2009 season will be Yamari-Padilla Collazo and Shawna Riuz.  Junior Christina Raiford returns as well as sophomores Shaquita Williams and Terakka Walker.

Redshirt junior Vicmari Prospero will play this year after sitting out in 2008 due to injury. Kamille King will re-join the team for the 2009 campaign as she did not compete in 2008.

TSU will also welcome newcomers Danielle Howell, Takeisha Parham, Santia Sanders, Naomi Wells, Tanequa Whitman and Calasia Williams to the squad.

The Tigers kick off the 2009 season by participating in the Samford University tournament August 28-29. The two-day event will also feature Southern Mississippi, University of Louisiana-Monroe and host Samford.
