Tiger Volleyball Adds Chuck Amshoff to Coaching Staff

Nashville --- Chuck Amshoff joins the Tennessee State University volleyball staff as an assistant coach after two seasons as a head coach at Lindsey Wilson College.

“I’m extremely excited about the hiring of Chuck Amshoff,” commented head coach Kathy Roulhac. “He has loads of great experience that will assist us in taking the program to the next level and continue our recent championship tradition.”


Amshoff joins the Tiger staff after a brief, yet successful, head coaching career at Lindsey Wilson College. In two seasons, he led the volleyball program to a 43-33 mark. In his second year, he guided Lindsey Wilson to an overall record of 28-9, the second highest single season win total in the program’s history.


Amshoff also served as the head tennis coach at LWC. Over two seasons, He led the women’s program to a 30-9 record while the men’s program notched a 25-11 mark. Both squads won back-to-back Mid South Conference regular season and tournament titles and the women advanced to the NAIA national semifinals each of his two seasons.


In 2006, Amshoff served as assistant women’s volleyball coach and head men’s volleyball coach at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va. He also spent one season as a volunteer assistant for the University of Louisville.


Amshoff was the head coach at the Kentucky Indiana Volleyball Academy for 13 years and served as head coach at Presentation Academy in Louisville for three seasons.

 

“I will miss our assistant, Eysha Ambler of the last five seasons, but I’m happy about the potential for the program to get back to our championship status and I feel as though Chuck is the guy who will help us get back on track.”
