Tiger Volleyball Achieves in Academics

Nashville --- The Tennessee State University volleyball team had the highest Spring Term team GPA of all the women’s sports on campus as announced by Academic Services.


“I'm deeply honored and blessed for our team to be named as the team with the highest GPA,” commented head coach Kathy Roulhac. “The highest GPA is a re-occurring team goal every year for us and it feels great to have accomplished that goal. I look forward to continuing to win in the classroom as well as on the court for years to come.”


With a team grade point average of 3.188, the Tiger volleyball squad had the best team average for the 2009 Spring Term among the women’s sports on campus.


“We are so proud of the effort volleyball student-athlete’s are making in the classroom,” said Dr. Johnnie Smith, Director of Academic Services.  “The team’s hard work shows that balancing athletics and academics can be done successfully, and I am confident that they will continue building on this amazing accomplishment.”


The men’s tennis team had the highest GPA of all of the men’s sports on campus with a 3.385.
