BOWLING GREEN, Ky.--- The Tennessee State University volleyball team started off strong with a game one win but dropped three consecutive games in route to the 1-3 (30-22, 29-31, 23-30, 20-30) loss to Marshall. Christian Lowe tallied a team high 12 kills in addition to 11 digs while Kelly Davis and Endia Oliver each chipped in 10 kills for TSU. Candace Saleaumua dished out 47 assists and 13 digs while Kamille King added 15 digs. Marshall opened up game one on a 4-0 run but TSU responded with a 4-0 run that tied the game. Both teams battled for the next eight points until TSU grabbed a 14-13 lead on an attack error by Marshall. The Lady Tigers maintained the lead for the rest of the game. Game two began with TSU jumping ahead 4-0. The Lady Tigers held the lead for most of the game but the Thundering Herd put together a rally that tied the game 24-24. The score remained close but Marshall was able to pull out the win and even the series. In game three, Marshall grabbed an early lead on the way to the win and game four saw the Thundering Herd outscore the Lady Tigers 20-9 down the stretch to claim the victory and seal the match. Next up for the Lady Tigers is a match against Gardner-Webb in the final game of the Lady Topper Classic.
