Nashville, Tenn. --- The Tennessee State University volleyball team will face No. 11 Hawaii in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday, Nov. 30 at the University of Louisville. Match time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
In Tennessee State’s first-ever NCAA appearance, the Lady Tigers were placed in the University Park Region along with Hawaii, Middle Tennessee, and host University of Louisville.
Friday’s match-up against Hawaii will be the first meeting between the two teams.
Tennessee State, winner of the Ohio Valley Conference volleyball championship, is one of thirty-one schools that was awarded an automatic qualification. The remaining 33 slots were filled with at-large selections to complete the bracket.
Team pairings were determined by geographical proximity, with the exception that teams from the same conference were not paired during the first and second rounds.
