VOLLEYBALL GEARS UP FOR OVC ACTION ON SADD WEEKEND

NASHVILLE--- While promoting awareness for Students Against Drunk Drivers (SADD), the Tennessee State University volleyball team will host Jacksonville State and Samford University this weekend in key OVC contests.

SADD weekend will kick-off with a match against Jacksonville State on Friday at 7 p.m. while Saturday's contest versus Samford is slated for 2 p.m. in Kean Hall.

SADD weekend will also feature Girl Scout Day on Saturday. There will be time after the match for the Girl Scouts to meet the players, take pictures and get autographs.

In the last meeting between the teams, Tennessee State defeated Jacksonville State 3-2 (14-30, 30-28, 30-23, 26-30, 15-10) in a hard fought match in Pete Matthews Coliseum. TSU also defeated Samford 3-0 (30-28, 30-23, 30-27) Siebert Hall.

Tennessee State (11-12, 9-5 OVC) is currently in fifth place in the OVC standings while Jacksonville State sits atop the conference with an OVC record of 11-2 and an overall record of 14-6. Samford (12-10, 7-6 OVC) is in sixth place.
