NASHVILLE, Tenn.-The Tennessee State volleyball program dropped a 3-1 (21-30, 30-27, 30-21, 33-31) decision at Tennessee-Martin in the final game of the regular season. The Tigers will head into the Ohio Valley Conference tournament as the number two seed with a 12-4 OVC record, 20-13 overall. With the score tied at 16 in the first game, Collese Dornan started a six point run with a kill and ended it with an ace to take a commanding 23-16 lead. The Skyhawks (18-13, 7-9) mounted a comeback closing to within two at 23-21, but TSU would score the final seven points to close out game one 30-21. UT-Martin came out strong in the second game and built a 19-11 lead. Two four-point runs led by Meesha Jackson with two kills and services aces from Erika Godbolt and Megan McKinney brought the Tigers to within one at 20-19. UTM used the game three momentum to start out fast and built leads of 20-10 and 27-18. The Tigers would not go down easily as they used three Jackson kills, two Dornan kills, three blocks, and two Skyhawk setting errors to take the lead at 28-27. UT-Martin would re-take the lead at 31-30 and hold on to win 33-31. The Tigers were led by Jackson with 16 kills and a .367 hitting percentage. Kelly Davis and Godbolt recorded double-doubles with 13 kills-16 digs and 11 kills-23 digs, respectively. Dornan added ten kills, while Tiana Maua registered 58 assists and 13 digs.
