MEESHA JACKSON RECEIVES OVC PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONOR

NASHVILLE---Senior volleyball player Meesha Jackson helped lead her team to a pair of conference wins last week and has been honored by the Ohio Valley Conference as the offensive player of the week. Jackson, a native of Dry Fork, Virginia, recorded double-digit kills in both contests. She put down 17 kills on 23 attempts against Tennessee-Tech, hitting an impressive .652 with 18.5 points and two blocks. Against Austin Peay, she had 10 kills on only 16 attempts with 12.0 points and a .500 hitting percentage. She also posted four blocks in the win over Austin Peay. Jackson improves her overall hitting percentage to a highly respectable .377 and is ranked number one in OVC hitting percentage. She is in the top ten in kills (3.40) and points (4.22) per game and is fourth in blocks with 1.44 per outing. Playing in only her second season as a Lady Tiger, Jackson has moved into first place on the Tennessee State top career hitting percentage list.
