TSU'S KATHY ROULHAC RECEIVES OVC COACHING HONOR;LADY TIGERS RECEIVE RECOGNITION FOR BANNER SEASON

NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State volleyball coach Kathy Roulhac has been honored as the 2005 Ohio Valley Conference Coach of the Year for leading the Lady Tigers to their best season in school history highlighted by a share of the school's first-ever OVC title. Roulhac, in just her second season at the helm, led her team to a 22-10 overall record and 14-2 conference mark. The Lady Tigers are the second seed heading into this weekend's OVC Tournament in Charleston, Ill. In addition to the coaching honor, three Lady Tigers were named to the six-player second team. Sophomore Kelly Davis along with junior transfers Tiana Maua and Kelley Smith were each honored with selection. In addition, Maua and Smith were also selected to the All-OVC Newcomer team. OVC head coaches and the league's sports information directors voted on the teams. Schools were not allowed to vote on players from their own team. The Lady Tigers will look to continue to keep their outstanding season going in the OVC Tournament. After a first-round bye, the Lady Tigers open play on Saturday against the winner of the opening round match between No. 3 seed Jacksonville State and No. 6 seed Austin Peay.
