NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State senior volleyball player Katrelle Armwood is this week's featured HCA-Ohio Valley Conference Student Athlete of the Week. Arwmood, from Durham, N.C., helped lead TSU to its first OVC title last fall. Sponsored by HCA's TriStar Family of Hospitals, a student-athlete from the league 11-member schools who is making a difference in his or her community will be featured during the course of the 2005-06 academic year. Arwmood completed a four-year career as a volleyball player for Tennessee State University, serving as team captain. She has been widely-involved in campus and community activities during her college. An architectural engineering major, she has served as a teaching assistant in engineering classes. She has volunteered her time in the math tutoring program at Pearl-Cohn School. She is a member of TL Samp Tutoring Program for students in mathematics, engineering, and sciences field. She has volunteered in the Boys and Girls Club program through Delta Sigma Theta. During the summer, Armwood returned to her high school in North Carolina and assisted with volleyball camps and student advisement. Armwood is a member of TSU's Student Athlete Advisement Committee. She is a member of AEI and was recently inducted into the Golden Key, International Honor Society. She will graduate in May, '07 in the five-year degree program of architectural engineering.
