LADY TIGERS TOUGH SEPTEMBER SLATE CONTINUESWITH DEFEAT AT WESTERN KENTUCKY
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. --- A tough open to the September portion of the 2005 season continued for the Tennessee State volleyball team with a 3-0 defeat to host Western Kentucky Tuesday night. The Lady Tigers were making their second trip to the Blue Grass State in three days after playing in a very solid field at Louisville that included the host 14th-ranked Lady Cardinals and Ohio University and Wake Forest. This time around, TSU was going against a Lady Topper squad which was playing its home opener. TSU managed a -.022 hitting percentage in suffering the 30-19, 30-26, and 30-14 in E.A. Diddle Arena. The win improved the Lady Toppers to 5-1 on the year, while the Tigers fell to 2-6. Erica Godbolt and Kelly Davis each had six kills to lead the Tigers, while Katrelle Armwood added a match-best 13 digs. TSU will continue its road trek this weekend with an appearance in the UAB Tournament in Birmingham.
