NASHVILLE --- A highly-anticipated volleyball season begins for Tennessee State University as the Lady Tigers make the trip to Middle Tennessee State for a weekend tournament. Coach Kathy Roulhac begins her second year at the helm and is looking forward to putting a team which promises to be much-improved on the court this fall. The team was 5-27 a year ago, but Roulhac has stacked her roster with several junior college transfers. The Lady Tigers will open play on Friday against Texas-El Paso and later against Alabama A&M. On Saturday, TSU will face host Middle Tennessee at 12:30 p.m. and Western Carolina at 7:30. The early-season event is one of three tournaments for TSU. TSU will play in Louisville's Tournament next weekend and at UAB the following week. TSU's home opener is Sept. 17 against Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
