VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO TOP-RANKED MURRAY STATE
The Tennessee State Volleyball Lady Tigers fell to Murray State Tuesday night at Kean Hall. The final score of the match was 3-0 in favor of the Racers. The Lady Tigers gave the Racers a big scare in the opening game, taking advantage of several missed cues. However, Murray State was able to recoup and over take Tennessee State, 31-29, in game one. Game two saw the Racers regain the confidence that has seen them win 11-straight Ohio Valley Conference games dating back to last season. Murray State took games two and three, 30-18, 30-21, respectively. Leading the Racers' offensive with a double-double (19 kills, 11 digs) was sophomore Paige Sun. Senior Jennifer Corral (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) and sophomore Thereza Wright (El Paso, Texas) each recorded 10 kills on the night. Sophomore Catherine Armwood (Durham, N.C.) picked up 13 digs. The Lady Tigers continue their eight-match homestand with a meeting with Tennessee-Martin on Friday night at 7 p.m. followed by a non-conference matchup with Alabama A&M on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
