NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee State volleyball team is looking forward to a much-improved season in 2002 as head coach Dawn Reese has landed her best recruiting classic to go along with key returnees. The Lady Tigers start the new season on Labor Day with a pair of matches. TSU will play across the city at Trevecca at 3 p.m. before returning to Kean Hall to host Chicago State at 7 p.m in the home opener. Junior Kristin King and Janique Suber, sophomore Jennifer Washington, and senior Catrina Hewlett, who is coming back from knee surgery, head the list of returnees. The newcomers include outside hitter Catherine Armwood, who was selected North Carolina High School Athletic Association Athlete of the Year and led her team to the Class1A state championship. Jennifer Corral, a 5-10 junior, was an all-conference and all-region performer at Ventura Community College. All TSU home matches will be held in Kean Hall. There is no admission charge. ###
