Trevor Searcy began his service with Tennessee State University in December 2015 and currently serves as the department’s Director of Sports Medicine. In his role, Searcy oversees the sports medicine staff and coordinates comprehensive healthcare services for Tennessee State student-athletes while continuing to assist directly with the football program.
Throughout his tenure at TSU, Searcy has worked with student-athletes across every varsity sport, with extensive hands-on experience supporting both football and men’s basketball programs.
Prior to joining Tennessee State, Searcy accumulated nine years of experience in sports medicine, working with programs at Middle Tennessee State University, Jackson State University, Germantown High School (Mississippi), and Portland High School (Tennessee). He also completed two professional internships in the National Football League, gaining valuable experience at the highest level of athletic performance and care.
Searcy is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. In recognition of his impact within collegiate athletics, he was honored as the 2019 recipient of the Mickey O’Brien Award for Collegiate Athletic Trainer of the Year.
A native of Portland, Tennessee, Searcy earned his Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from Middle Tennessee State University in 2006 and is licensed as an athletic trainer in the state of Tennessee.
