Carmen Fowler

Carmen Fowler will join Tennessee State's softball coaching staff this season as a graduate assistant under head coach Jeff Dabney.

Fowler will assist with all day-to-day operations and will primarily help coach the members of TSU's outfield.

The Lawrenceville, Ga. native comes to TSU after a successful collegiate career at South East Missouri State.

While attending SEMO, Fowler started all 209 games during her four year career. She was named a Southeast Scholar Athlete for four straight seasons and was selected to the OVC's First Team following senior campaign in which she led the team in average (.386), hits (73), triples (3), total bases (97) and on base percentage (.445).

As a junior she hit .274 with a team-best two triples and three home runs. She tied for the team lead with 27 runs and ranked third on the team with 22 RBI, a .384 slugging percentage and 40 hits. Her performance on the field earned her a spot on the Blues City Classic All-Tournament Team while her work in the classroom garnered her OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll honors.

Fowler graduated from Southeast Missouri State in 2011 with a degree in Mathematics.
