Tennessee State (8-20, 0-4): The Tigers dropped a 6-5 non-conference contest to Chattanooga on Wednesday evening. Courtney Gearlds and Selena Crafton combined for five of the Tigers seven hits on the night. Gearlds went 3-for-4, while Crafton finished 2-for-5. Gearlds continued to climb the ranks in the TSU record book in three categories as she moved into third in hits, second in runs and second in stolen bases. Crafton continues to lead TSU with a .360 batting average.

The Eagles have belted 28 home runs on the season, led by the trio of Allison Rager, Robyn Leighton and Ellen Barrett who have all but four of the team’s dingers. Rager is third in the OVC with a .422 batting average and tops MSU in runs (22) and RBI (25) while driving eight balls out of the park. Leighton leads MSU with nine bombs and is just behind Rager with 17 runs and 24 runs batted in, while batting .333. In the circle, Chelsea McManaway has made an impact in her first season with the Eagles. The transfer has tossed nine shutouts as she compiled a 10-5 record and a 1.41 ERA. McManaway is holding opponents to a .182 batting average and is second in the OVC with 148 strikeouts.
