Nashville --- The Tennessee State University softball team will continue its home stand with a doubleheader against Jacksonville State on Tuesday afternoon.
Game one is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. with the second game to follow shortly after. Both games will be played at Tiger Field.
Tennessee State (7-22, 1-4 OVC) is coming off a series to UT Martin in which the Tigers dropped all three contests. Brittany Webb and Jalisa Bradley led TSU with a .400 batting average in the series while Webb tallied a team-best three RBI.
In the series finale between the two teams, Webb went 2-of-4 at the plate while Tedra Alford registered the Tigers' only RBI of the game.
Overall, Caitlin Eaton (.346) and Tedra Alford (.325) are the two of the offensive leaders for TSU. Eaton has a team-high 28 hits, including six doubles, one triple and three homeruns. Alford has tallied 27 hits this season to go along with 39 total bases while Brittany Webb leads the team with 19 RBI.
Jacksonville State is off to a 19-6 start with a 6-0 mark in conference play. The Gamecocks are recently coming off a three-game sweep over Morehead State this weekend. JSU also swept Eastern Kentucky on opening weekend.
Kristin Graham leads JSU with a .510 batting average to go along with 25 hits and 21 RBI. Abbey Stepp (.418) has tallied 23 hits and 23 RBI while Amanda Crow (.346) leads the team with 27 hits and 26 runs batted in.
