Softball splits on day two of HBCU classic

Conyers, Ga. --- The Tennessee State University softball team picked up a split on Sunday to conclude play at the fourth annual Tiny Laster HBCU Classic.

Tennessee State improved to 3-1 on the season.

The Tigers defeated Hampton, 12-4, in the early game before falling to Florida A&M, 6-1, in the final contest of the tournament.

Olivia Gamache (1-0) recorded her first career win with the victory over Hampton while Kelly Troglin moved to 1-1 on the season, following a loss to FAMU.

Tennessee State returns to action next weekend at the Ragin Cajun Tournament hosted by Louisiana-Lafayette. During the tournament, TSU will face Stephen F. Austin, Louisiana-Lafayette, Maine and Mississippi Valley State.
