Saturday’s doubleheader is slated to begin at 1 p.m. while Sunday’s single game will kick-off at 12 p.m.
The Tigers, coming off of a split at non-conference opponent UT-Chattanooga, are 5-4 in conference and hold an overall mark of 14-15 with a 1-6 home record. As a team, the Tiger are batting .272 with 129 runs on the year winning four of their last six.
Caitlin Eaton leads the Tigers with a .429 hitting percentage and also leads the TSU pitchers with nine wins with a 3.04 ERA. Eaton also carries a team leading 21 RBI's with nine home runs. Bridget Metzger (.310) and Brittany Webb (.300) have been solid at the plate for TSU combining for 28 RBI's.
UT Martin is on an eight-game slide and is coming of a two-game drop (7-2, 5-4) to University of Memphis on Wednesday (4/1) in Memphis, Tenn. The Skyhawks (18-16, 2-6 OVC) are 3-9 on the road and are led by Laura Roberts and Jenny Bain.
Roberts leads the Skyhawks with a .327 batting average 28 RBI's. Bain holds the top spot for UTM in home runs with hitting .327 on the year.
UTM owns the series record at 42-5 winning the last 17 outings against the Tigers. The last time the teams matched up was back on April 20, 2008 in Martin, Tenn. with the outcome favoring the Skyhawks, 3-2.
On deck, TSU will head to Cookeville, Tenn. to meet Tennessee Tech in an OVC doubleheader on Wednesday, April 8. The first game is slated for a 2 p.m. start.
