TSU SOFTBALL ENDS REGULAR SEASON WITH CRUCIAL HOME WEEK-END SERIES -- Can Capture OVC Tournament Berth - President to Throw-out First Pitch --

The Tennessee State University softball team battle OVC foe UT-Martin in a crucial week-end series to end the regular season. The Lady Tigers, riding the most successful season in program history (32-20), is looking to qualify for the six-team Ohio Valley Conference Softball Championship Tournament. TSU, with a record of 12-12 in the OVC, is currently in fifth place 1-game behind Eastern Kentucky (12-11) and one-half game ahead of UT-Martin (11-12). TSU must win the series (2-of-3) against UT-Martin to assure themselves of TSU's second-ever berth in the OVC tournament. The three-game series begins on Saturday, May 5th at 6:30p with a night double-header scheduled. The final game of the series is set for Sunday, May 6th at 1:00p. That day, designated Senior Day, will begin with festivities at 12:40p with a ceremonial first pitch thrown by University President, Dr. Melvin Johnson.
