BIG INNINGS HELP SOUTHEAST MISSOURI TO SWEEP TSU CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO---Southeast Missouri State used a lead-off home run and an eleven run second inning to win game three of the series 15-2. The five-inning loss moves Tennessee State to 14-23 and 1-12 in the Ohio Valley. Redhawks pitcher Stephanie Huffman did not allow a base runner until senior Nira Robbins led off the final inning with a single into left field. Robbins would score four batters later on a wild pitch. Junior Emily Samana, who reached on a walk, scored the Tigers second run of the inning on an errant throw by the SEMO third baseman trying to put out sophomore Jessica Sesson at first. Junior Candace Hildebrand suffered her second loss of the series and is now 5-9 on the year. Tennessee State returns home for a non-conference doubleheader against Lipscomb University on Wednesday, April 12.
