HILDEBRAND SELECTED AS OVC PITCHER OF THE WEEK NASHVILLE, Tenn.-Tennessee State junior Candace Hildebrand was chosen as the Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week for her performance last week, as announced by the conference office on Monday. Last week, the Moreno Valley, Calif., and Arizona Western CC product went 2-0 and pitched two complete game shutouts to lead the Tigers to their first conference series win of the year. The right-handed pitcher threw two five hitters against Morehead State striking out four in game one and a season high eight in the final game of the series. Hildebrand picked up her sixth and seventh shutouts of the season in route to her twelfth win. The 12 wins is a new single season record for Tennessee State. The award is the first of Hildebrand's OVC career and is only the second Tiger to receive Pitcher of the Week recognition. Christina Blair was honored in week two of the 2005 season. Jacksonville State's Daniella Papano was selected as the OVC Player of the Week.
