15 Student-Athletes Celebrate Academic Achievements in Fall Commencement

NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State University awarded more than 400 degrees the morning of Saturday, December 9, during the 2017 fall commencement ceremony at Howard C. Gentry Complex.

Fifteen current and former student-athletes were included in the Tigers crossing the Big Blue stage. Among TSU’s graduates are All-Americans, All-Conference medalists, OVC Academic Medal of Honor recipients and OVC Players of the Year.

Three student athletes, Lane Clark, Christopher Collins and Ani Popiashvili earned academic honors after securing a few of the highest GPAs in their respective college’s graduating class.  

White House correspondent and CNN Political Analyst April Ryan served as the commencement speaker.
