NASHVILLE --- The inaugural Tennessee State University Coaches Community Tour came to an end Friday afternoon.
The four-day event began on August 1 and included stops at two McDonald’s locations (Inglewood and Cool Springs), Republic Bank in Green Hills and Citizens Bank on Jefferson Street.
During the tour, Tiger fans had an opportunity to get autographs, meet, mingle and take photos with the TSU coaches and mascot.
“What an awesome experience this week was. Spending time with loyal TSU supporters and gaining new Tiger fans. Our fall sports seasons are right around the corner and there is no better way to kick things off than spending time in our communities with our fans!”
-Dana Ford, Head Men’s Basketball Coach
“I think this tour was a great idea and I think we should continue to do this. We were able to meet people and gave fans an opportunity to get to know us. I attended three out of the four tour dates and I enjoyed every one of them.”
- Chandra Cheeseborough, Director of Track and Field
“We’re only as good as the people that surround us. It has been great, especially being new, to see a lot of faces that are TSU supporters. I think it is a great idea and in the future, we’re going to have a lot more people come out. It’s been really fun.”
- Jessica Kern, Head Women’s Basketball Coach
“I thought it was a great opportunity for us to get out and meet some people in the community. I got a chance to see a few TSU alumni come in and other people from the city of Nashville. It’s always good to get out and spread the good news of TSU. Even though we are in camp right now, I was able to break away for a couple minutes after practice and meet some really good people. Thank you to Citizens Bank and all the other establishments that we visited this week for allowing us to promote our brand.”
- Rod Reed, Head Football Coach
