NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State University student-athletes produced another strong semester in the classroom this spring thanks to their hard work and dedication to greatness on and off the field.
A total of 129 student-athletes earned a place on the Honor Roll for the spring semester with 23 posting a perfect 4.0 grade point average. All of TSU’s female sports earned a 3.00 or higher team GPA for the spring.
Combining the winter and spring graduations, TSU saw 63 student-athletes complete their degrees during the 2016-17 academic year.
The women’s tennis team completed the spring semester with a combined 3.819 GPA, which was the best in the department. The softball team was the best in the classroom among large sports at TSU with a 3.549 team GPA. TSU’s volleyball team earned a 3.444 GPA this spring for second among large sports, followed by women’s golf with a 3.329 for second among small sports.
On the men’s side, the tennis team’s 3.481 spring GPA was the best followed by the golf team and its 2.874 team GPA.
