NASHVILLE, Tenn. – This Week in TSU Athletics features football, volleyball and cross country action on the road.
The Tennessee State volleyball team makes the trip to Statesboro, Ga. for three matches as part of the Georgia Southern Tournament. The Tigers will battle the host Eagles at noon on Friday, Sept. 11 before taking on Chicago State later in the day at 5 p.m. The following day, TSU is set to square off with Winthrop at noon to wrap up the tournament.
After opening the season last week at the Belmont Invitational, the cross country team heads to Chattanooga, Tenn. for the Powerade Invitational on Friday evening.
Coming off a 24-14 season-opening victory over Alabama State in the John Merritt Classic, the TSU football team will travel to Memphis, Tenn. for the Southern Heritage Classic versus Jackson State on Saturday, Sept. 12. Opening kickoff at the Liberty Bowl is scheduled for 6 p.m.
