NASHVILLE --- For the past week, members of the TSU Athletics Department visited Grace M. Eaton Child Care Center to participate in the Summer Camp for Sports Week.
Each day the student-athletes spent an hour and a half with the summer campers providing skill instruction in their respective sports as well as participating in other activities. Students from ages 6-10 were on hand to interact with the TSU programs.
The Tigerbelles and Flying Tigers kicked-off the weeklong affair while men’s basketball joined the campers on Tuesday. Members of the football team shared their expertise with the youngsters on Wednesday before volleyball and women’s basketball closed out the instructive and fun-filled week.
“Our students and our teachers have had so much fun interacting with the TSU athletes all week,” said Mahalia Howard, Executive Director of Grace M. Eaton Childcare Center. “We appreciate them coming so much because they make a difference in the kids’ lives when they come and spend time with them. We have been doing this for years and it gets better and better every year."
