NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Fans attending the Homecoming Game Saturday, Sept. 29 at LP Field experienced parking delays and difficulties that resulted in fans missing parts of the game or the game in its entirety.
"I want to personally apologize to all TSU fans for the parking issues we experienced Saturday night," said Teresa Phillips, Director of Athletics at the University. "We value our fan base and our community, and appreciate the support they have shown throughout the years for TSU athletic events. This was unacceptable that many of our loyal fans missed parts of the game due to traffic and parking issues beyond the control of the University, and in part, caused by the additional thousands of Homecoming celebrants clogging the LP Field campus and parking lots."
Officials from the University met with Metropolitan Nashville Police and representatives from LP Field Monday to find out what caused Saturday night's parking situation and the closing of exits on the interstate that rerouted traffic that caused even greater delays.
"We are going to implement a plan with the City of Nashville and LP Field to ensure this situation does not happen again," added Phillips.
