Since Tennessee State University's establishment in 1912, there have been many great moments in Big Blue athletics history.
With the arrival of the Centennial Celebration, TSU wanted to honor its' athletic excellence by highlighting 100 moments in the school's 100-year history.
With input from loyal Tiger fans, the TSU athletic department has re-lived one of the best Big Blue moments each weekday for the past four months.
Every sport in TSU's history was represented from the Tigersharks of the 1950's to the 11 Black College National Championships earned by the Tennessee State football team.
The series of moments highlighted some of the greatest athletes and coaches who are not only significant in Tennessee State's illustrious history, but are also some of the most-highly thought of individuals in all of athletics.
Moments like John McLendon coaching a "secret game" against an all-white school, Teresa Phillips coaching a men's basketball game and Wilma Rudolph capturing the hearts and imagination of millions by winning three gold medals transcend sports and could be some of the premier moments in American history.
Tennessee State has a lot to be proud of, and the 100 moments selected to be a part of the series are truly just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to all the great athletic moments that the university has to offer.
All 100 moments are listed below, and are accessible by clicking on the article's title.
We, the Tennessee State Athletic Department, thank the fans for submitting all of their nominations and we hope that everyone enjoyed taking a walk down memory lane with us as we looked back on 100 outstanding moments.
