Nashville, Tenn. - With the 2010-2011 athletic season approaching, the Tennessee State University Department of Athletics will take a look back at last year, counting down the Top 10 Moments of the 2009-10 season.
With the countdown winding down, taking the No. 3 spot - "Tiger Football's Comeback on Ranked Colonels" upsetting No. 16 ranked Eastern Kentucky, 21-17, at Kidd Stadium in Richmond, Ky. to keep their conference streak alive.
TSU trailed 17-13 with 5:38 remaining, but powered in for a score on 4th and goal with 1:38 left from a 10-play, 69-yard drive. The drive was keyed by a 29-yard completion on 3rd and 10 giving TSU a first down on the Colonels 19-yardline.
The Tigers took sole possession of the top spot in the Ohio Valley Conference with the 20-17 win while collecting their first victory at EKU since 1998. The win was the Tigers' first upset of two FCS Top 25 teams.
The TSU athletic department's staff and coaches, out of a pool of more than 25 entries, voted the Top 10 Moments of 2009-10.
