Tiger Tennis Drops Second Straight

Nashville, Tenn. – The Tennessee State University men and women's tennis teams lost their second match of the season with both squads falling to conference opponent, Morehead State, 7-0, at the TSU Tennis Complex. Both teams move to 0-2 on the season and 0-1 in conference play.

Morehead State men's team moves to 5-2, 1-0 in OVC matches with the Eagles' women posting an 8-4 record, 1-0 in OVC action. 

In early doubles competition, the number one team of Justin Hamm and Aaron Fields fell victim to their first defeat of the year in a close game, 8-5, moving to 1-1 on the year.

Hamm (1-1), Fields (1-1) and Michael Mosley (1-1) tried to regroup in singles competition but dropped their first matches this year in two sets.

In women's competition, the Morehead State Eagles proved to be strong picking up all single and double matches. In the highley favored match, Megan Haynes dropped her first set 6-0, before battling in the second set falling short, 6-2. Senior Dania Lofton (1-1) picked up her first loss of the year going down in two sets, 6-0, 6-0.

Next, both teams will host Murray State on Thursday, March 12, with a 12 p.m. start.
