Zena Lewis Hired as Assistant SID

Tennessee State University has hired Zena Lewis to fill the position of Assistant Director of Sports Information. Lewis comes to TSU from Clark Atlanta University where he served as the assistant sports information director and assistant track coach. Lewis will assist in all facets of the media relations operation of the Tigers’ athletic department.


A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Zena (Zinn┬ľa) is a 1999 graduate of Florida A&M University (FAMU) where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism and Public Relations. At FAMU, he was a four-year letter winner on the track team and was a member on the 1995 and 1997 MEAC track championship teams. He also interned in the Florida A&M sports information office.


In 2007, Lewis worked with the NCAA Division I Women’s Final Four, the WBCA Convention and WNBA Draft; he functioned as one of the WBCA’s media contact persons.
