NASHVILLE - Tennessee State University Athletics Director Teresa Phillips has announced the hiring of Barry Gresham as Associate Athletic Director for Broadcasting and Sales for TSU Athletics. Gresham will begin his duties in the newly created position on January 3, 2005. Gresham will serve as the play-by-play voice for Tiger football and basketball and host the coaches TV and radio programs. In addition to the broadcasting responsibilities, Gresham will coordinate sales and sponsorships for the Big Blue Sports Network and assist in game marketing and fundraising events. Gresham previously served as the Operations Manager for Tennessee State University's campus radio station, WTST, and as a mass communication instructor with TSU's Department of Communications. Gresham joined Tennessee State University in 1999. "I'm honored to be chosen for this position and anxious to get started," Gresham said. "We anticipate many more great successes to add to TSU's rich athletic history and I'm looking forward being there to broadcast them." Gresham is a graduate of Western Kentucky University where he earned a B.A. degree in Broadcast-Communications in 1991 and an M.A. in Communications in 1994. A native of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Gresham began his broadcasting career in 1986. He has worked in radio, television and advertising in Kentucky, Missouri and Tennessee. Gresham has served the last seven years as the TV play-by-play voice for Western Kentucky University's Hilltopper Sports Satellite Network and prior to that served two years doing women's basketball and baseball (radio) play-by-play at Southeast Missouri State University.
