TSU ATHLETICS DIRECTOR TERESA PHILLIPS, FACULTY REP JESSE JAMES HONORED BY ALL-AMERICAN FOOTBALL FOUNDATION

NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State University athletics director Teresa Phillips and faculty representative Dr. Jesse James have each received prestigious honors from the All-American Football Foundation. Phillips received the General Robert R. Neyland Outstanding Athletic Director Award while James was named recipient of the Outstanding Faculty Representative Award. The honors were announced at the All-American Football Foundation's 59th Banquet of Champions held in Memphis. Phillips was named as TSU's athletic director in April, 2002 after serving in the interim position on three different occasions. She was the Lady Tigers' head basketball coach prior to moving into administration. James is a former TSU football player and assistant coach. He is now a faculty member in the Department of Health and Physical Education and is the long-time faculty representative for the university.
