A four-time OVC medalist, Jontue McDowell played a vital role in the success of the Tennessee State men’s track and field team since transferring from Virginia Union three years ago. During his time in Nashville, McDowell won gold medals with the 4x400m relay team at the 2017 OVC Outdoor Championship and the 2018 OVC Indoor Championship to go with silvers at the OVC Indoor and Outdoor Championships in 2016. McDowell, who also competed in cross country for TSU, earned OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll accolades for his work in the classroom. Jontue earned a bachelor of science from Tennessee State on May 5 with a 3.2 GPA. He shared his college experience with tsutigers.com.
