Flying Tigers Conclude Action at Hoosier Hills

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. --- In the final meet before the Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Championship, the Tennessee State men’s track and field team ended the regular season with a strong performance at the Hoosier Hills on Friday night at the Harry Gladstein Fieldhouse.

Senior James Faison completed the 400m in 48.49 for second place in the fast section. Faison also teamed with Isaiah Olige, Jontue McDowell and Thomas Mosley to take second in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:17.75.

Three-time Ohio Valley Conference Field Athlete of the Week R’Lazon Brumfield continued his strong rookie campaign on Friday. Brumfield placed second in the triple jump with a mark of 14.82m (48’7.5”) and fifth in the long jump with a distance of 6.77m (22’2.5”).

The Flying Tigers also had third-place finishes courtesy of David Jones in the 200m (22.21) and Olige in the open 400m (49.67).

TSU will now turn its attention to the OVC Indoor Championship on Feb. 23-24 in Charleston, Ill.
